ITS World Congress 2017

The ITS World Congress 2017, produced by ITS America in conjunction with ITS Canada and co-organized by ITS Europe and ITS Asia-Pacific, brings together global leaders in intelligent and transformative transportation to showcase and evaluate the latest innovative concepts, active prototypes, and live systems. Thousands of people from the transport, automotive, telecommunications, and technology sectors will engage in robust discussions and spirited debates as to how this rapidly changing and ever-expanding industry is addressing the very real challenges facing our mobile, connected societies today and in the future.

AUTOPILOT will be present at the European Pavilion and host a Special Interest Session entitled “Benefits of IoT and BigData for Automated Driving and User Trust Challenge” on 31st October.

Session Description:

What benefits are actually expected from the Internet of Things and Big Data to improve the safety and reliability of automated driving vehicles? How can the increase of automated driving performances—gained by the use of millions of objects collecting information thanks to the Internet of Thing frameworks—be evaluated? How can the user’s acceptance for these technologies be assessed, including concerns about data privacy and cyber security, ensuring users will trust automated vehicles using connected objects? This session will answer these questions and present the large scale pilot activities expecting to address these issues.
